Daniel sought the Lord about the king's secret dream and God responded to Daniel's faith with revelation. The statue represented earthly kingdoms that would rise and fall, but the dream also prophesied of a Kingdom that would destroy the statue and fill the whole earth.

Daniel spoke up in a moment when he could have chosen comfort. He stood up for his convictions in the face of a King and culture of luxury. He PURPOSED in his heart to honor God above any peer pressure or expectation others put on him.

God is in control, even when confusion surrounds your home, and wants to carry the young and influential away. And just because the prevailing culture takes kids away for 3 years to train them in the ways of the "educated," you can trust that God will work out His plans and display His glory.
