あらすじ・解説
The debate about teaching sex ed in schools is eternal, but now there's new resistance from some parents in California. Susie reads from a Time article by Alexandra Sifferlin about a group of parents who started a campaign to remove a sex-ed textbook from their local middle school, arguing that it was inappropriate for their 13- and 14-year-olds. Susie has a lot to say about this, noting that she finds parents to be overly protective and unaware of what teenagers already know. If the kids don't know about some sexual matters, why can't educators talk seriously to them about any questions they have, but will never ask their parents?
Then, in our "What's New on Audible" segment, Susie shares a very funny audio sample that will make you laugh out loud. It's from Ben Franklin Unplugged by Josh Kornbluth. While gazing into the bathroom mirror one morning while shaving, the author (and narrator) realized that he looks remarkably like the guy on the $100 bill. Kornbluth is a master storyteller, says Susie.
