Daniel Weiss is the President and CEO of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or The Met, one of the largest and most diverse art museums in the world. Prior to this position, he served as a university professor, the 14th President of Haverford College, the 16th President of Lafayette College and the Dean of Johns Hopkins’s Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and Psychology from The George Washington University, a Master’s Degree from Yale and a PhD from Johns Hopkins University.
He is a published author of six books and currently serves as a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Founded in 1870, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest and most diverse art museums in the world. Covering over 2 million square feet of space in the heart of New York City's Central Park, The Met is home to over 1.5 million artifacts which span 5,000 years of history.
