We came, we saw, and somehow we survived Silver Scream Con V! This week on 30 Screams or Less, We trade our usual horror movie reviews for a chaotic recap of Silver Scream Con 2026 in Worcester, Massachusetts.

From meeting horror legends Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers, From Dusk Till Dawn) and Linda Blair (The Exorcist) to attending panels featuring Shawnee Smith (Saw) and the hilarious cast of Super Troopers, this weekend was packed with unforgettable moments, incredible horror vendors, and plenty of questionable decisions.

Of course, it wouldn't be 30 Screams or Less without a complete shitshow. Corey managed to split his head open before we even left, a normally hour-long drive turned into a two-and-a-half-hour nightmare, and we somehow missed the sold-out Ice Nine Kills concert. Throw in some questionable food choices, late-night horror movies, and Steve going straight from the convention to performing with The Summoned alongside BRAT, and you've got one hell of a weekend.

We also discuss our favorite celebrity encounters, the best convention panels, Spencer Charnas' seemingly superhuman stamina, and why Silver Scream Con continues to be one of our favorite horror conventions in New England.

Whether you're a die-hard Ice Nine Kills fan, a horror movie fanatic, or someone who loves a good convention disaster story, join us as we relive the horror, hilarity, and absolute chaos of Silver Scream Con V!

30 Screams or Less is your weekly horror movie podcast featuring reviews, convention coverage, and plenty of unfiltered sarcasm.

They finally did it. This week on 30 Screams or Less, we review Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil, starring Austin Abrams—and after years of questionable adaptations, this might finally be the Resident Evil movie fans have been waiting for.

We break down the film’s incredible tension, creature design, practical effects, comedy, IMAX experience, and the mountain of Easter eggs and video game references packed throughout Raccoon City. Does it follow the games directly? No—but it somehow captures the feeling of actually playing Resident Evil better than the movies that came before it.

We also discuss the film’s hilariously questionable character decisions, its approach to ammo and survival-horror mechanics, the mysterious absence of the T-Virus name, and why this one left us wanting to immediately pick up a controller and play the games again.

Before the review, we preview our upcoming trip to Silver Scream Con 2026, where 30 Screams or Less will once again be attending as press. We talk about the stacked guest lineup, who we’re hoping to meet, and what we have planned for the weekend.

Is Resident Evil finally the adaptation the franchise deserves? Spoilers ahead.

In this episode of 30 Screams or Less, we review Passenger, a 2026 supernatural horror film directed by Andrzej Oravdal and starring Jacob C. Pio, Lulu Belle, and Joseph Lopez. The story follows Tyler and Maddie, a young couple traveling the country in their van who discover that a gruesome highway accident may have left them with an unwanted passenger — a demonic presence determined to claim them both. We break down Passenger's creepy use of background scares, its surprisingly original van-life horror concept, the Passenger itself, some brutal practical effects, and one of the movie's coolest sequences involving a projector in the middle of the woods. Unfortunately, we also have plenty to say about the predictable jump scares, questionable character logic, and pacing that somehow makes a 97-minute horror movie feel considerably longer. Does Passenger do enough with its supernatural road-trip premise to make the journey worthwhile, or does this horror movie spend a little too much time idling?
