Weight loss can be very difficult if toxins like heavy metals (i.e, mercury, lead, cadmium, aluminum, etc.) are present in the body. Heavy metals are ubiquitous in our environment having made their way into our water supply, the air we breath and the food we eat. Metals are even in some vaccines. Metals are fat-soluble which means that they are stored in fat tissues in the body (i.e, brain, breast and body fat tissue). The problem here is that the body wants to dilute toxins in your fat tissue (makes the toxic metals less toxic), but makes it impossible or extremely difficult to lose weight. "The solution to pollution is dilution", according to Dr. Wald, but properly detoxifying the metals is the first step towards weight loss. Secondly, these toxic metals interfere with dozens of metabolic reactions involving inflammation, blood sugar balance and overall health making it necessary to have an organized plan of attack beginning with testing, focused detoxification efforts (not just "detoxing" whatever that means).
