It is the most-visited museum in the United States and the fifth-most visited art museum in the world after the Louvre (I've touched), Vatican Museums, The National Museum of China, and the British Museum (which I have stood in the courtyard of). And, while this is supposed to be "non-musical," I find it cool that two famous music pieces, Rossini's opera The Barber of Seville (1816) and Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake (1877), both premiered on this date.
