  • Welcome to the Astrology of Terrible Things podcast with me, Carly Heath, and my friend and co-host Jessie Devine. This is a podcast where we bring you stories of terrible things that’ve happened to people and then we delve into the astrology of that terrible thing, to try and figure out why bad things happen. Important note: this podcast comes with all the trigger warnings. We talk about amusement park disasters, serial killers, catastrophic accidents and all sorts of events that usually result in people dying. If any of that sounds like something you don’t want to hear about, then please do not listen to this show.

In this week's episode, Jessie shares a secret chart with Carly and Carly has to figure out what happened. We also talk about the Erfurt Latrine Disaster.

On July 26, 1184 Henry VI the King of Germany arrived at the Petersberg Citadel to settle a land dispute between Landgrave Louis III and Archbishop Conrad Wittlesback. When all the nobles gathered on this wood floor in this meeting room, the combined weight of everyone, made the floor crumble beneath their feet to the communal latrine below. But that’s not all! The floor of the communal latrine also broke when everyone fell onto it. The lucky ones died in the fall. But many others died from a combination of drowning in human excrement or suffocating by breathing in the fumes. Why did this happen? Let’s see what the astrology says.
