What does a life of faith actually look like when it’s lived out? What nuggets of wisdom do older Christians have to encourage you in your walk with God? On Eternal Echoes, you’ll hear from older Christians who share what they have learned about God, themselves, faith, trials, and more on their life journey. Inspired by the Biblical command to, “stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies” (Jeremiah 6:16), Eternal Echoes features conversations with seniors in the faith that can help edify, guide, and encourage you on your own walk with God.Katharine Rose キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 聖職・福音主義

  • Ep. 45: A Miraculous Sustain: Trusting God Through 37 Years of Caregiving with Tom and Mary Belote
    2025/11/05

What do you do when the miracle you prayed for doesn’t come—at least not in the way you hoped?

In this powerful conversation on the Eternal Echoes podcast, Tom and Mary Belote share their 37-year journey of caring for their son Matthew, who suffered a life-altering brain injury as a toddler. Their story is not one of instant healing, but of a miraculous sustain—the daily grace and faithfulness of God in the midst of exhaustion, heartbreak, and unending love.

Through raw honesty and deep wisdom, Tom and Mary reflect on what it means to trust God one day at a time, to wrestle with His sovereignty, and to discover that “good” in God’s eyes often looks different than we expect.

This is a story of enduring faith, sacred perseverance, and the quiet miracle of grace that meets us today—and every day.

    Wise words worth echoing:

-“We have not received a miraculous healing, but we received a miraculous sustain.”

-“I will not let evil win.”

-“When you sign on to follow God, watch out—He can take you places you never would have dreamed.”

-“Good has to be redefined. What I thought was good is not how God defines good.”

-“The problem is never in the giving of God’s forgiveness—it’s in the receiving.”

  • Ep. 44: When the Lord Carries You: Finding Grace in Seasons of Suffering with David Beeton
    2025/10/29

In this episode of the Eternal Echoes podcast, host Katharine Rose speaks with David Beeton, a 65-year-old man who serves as a Congregational Care & Prayer Director at The Experience Community Church in Cannon County, Tennessee.

David shares how God pursued him from childhood — even in seasons of rebellion and insecurity — and how the Lord quite literally singled him out and called him home.

But David’s story did not end in a moment of recommitment. It was forged in the fire of twenty-one years of walking with his wife through the relentless progression of multiple sclerosis (MS) — years marked by suffering, caregiving, loss, and God's sustaining grace.

He speaks with tenderness about love that remained faithful, a Savior who carried him when he had no strength left, and the ways God can use even our darkest seasons to deepen our hope in heaven and our love for Christ.

If you need hope… if you’ve questioned where God is in your pain… if you’ve wondered whether your faith can carry you through what’s in front of you… this conversation will steady your heart and lift your eyes.

    Wise words worth echoing:

-“Our relationship with Christ is paramount. Setting our affections on Him, getting to know Him – there's nothing greater that we can do.”

-“You never have to doubt God's love because He proved His love for you when Jesus died on the cross.”

-“If God used those experiences for me to know more about Him, then it was worth it all.”

-“The highest thing that any of us can do with our lives is to spend time in His presence.”

-“Our sufferings aren't for nothing. Those are the very things God has given you as a gift that you can then share how God delivered you or how God helped you through.”

-“The more often you can tell your story, the better, because nobody has your exact story and it glorifies God when you tell it.”

-“If you're young, God wants to use you. If you're old, you can still bear fruit for the Lord.”

  • Ep. 43: Seeking God First: A Story of Loss, Love, and Redemption with Anita Keagy
    2025/10/22

In this episode of the Eternal Echoes podcast, host Katharine Rose speaks with Anita Keagy, an author, speaker, and founder of JoyShop Ministries, a ministry dedicated to helping people rediscover the joy that comes from seeking God first.

Anita shares her deeply personal journey from heartbreak to healing — and how God turned her greatest pain into a life-giving ministry.

As a young pastor’s daughter, Anita faced an unplanned pregnancy, the heartbreak of placing her baby for adoption, and years of wondering if her daughter knew she was loved. Decades later, God wove redemption into her story in a way only He could — reuniting her with her daughter and revealing a profound spiritual truth that changed everything:

Just as Anita had written letters for her daughter to one day read, God has written His own letters for His children — found in His Word — longing for us to open them and discover His heart.

Through tears, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose, Anita invites us to see Scripture not as a duty, but as a love letter from our Father — one that leads us into relationship, healing, and joy.

If you’ve ever struggled to seek God in your everyday life or wondered how He could redeem your pain, this story will remind you: nothing is wasted in His hands.

    Wise words worth echoing:

-“When you fail, you don't need anyone shaming you. The enemy is already shaming you enough.”

-"Never doubt in the dark what God has told you in the light."

-“My pain of the past has led me into service for his kingdom. And only God can do that.”

-“Pray that God will give you the desire to really want to know Him, to hunger after Him, to want Him more than anything else.”

-“The Father laid down himself through his Son for the world, for all to come to know Him. He did it all. So the love is there, but we have to receive it.”
