    In this episode, Craig talks with Representative Kay Khan.

    State Representative Kay Khan has represented Newton in the Massachusetts House of Representatives since 1995. She currently represents the 11th Middlesex district.

    Among other areas of note, she is the founder and co-chair of a legislative Mental Health Caucus, the first of its kind in the country. As a former chair of the Caucus of Women’s Legislators, she is the founder and continues to co-chair the Taskforce on Women in the Criminal Justice System.

    From her first years as a freshman legislator to her status today as a senior-ranking legislator known for her leading progressive values, she has changed some of the most important and influential policy landscape in Massachusetts.

Phillip Reason is an accomplished public health professional and social entrepreneur with a rich background in social work, community organizing, and long-term recovery advocacy. A proud alumnus of Boston University, Phil earned his Master's in Public Health in May 2022 and his Master's in Social Work in May 2021.

    As a public health professional and social entrepreneur he envisions a more inclusive healthcare system that empowers individuals to achieve long-term recovery, thereby enhancing their well-being and contributing to the creation of healthier, more resilient communities.

    Phil and Craig are going to talk about the transformative journey of a person who has experienced life behind bars and has emerged as beacons of hope and service within their communities.
