Motherhood: A Journey Down the Path to Conscious Parenting (Episode 3)

  • サマリー

  • In this episode of 'Dreamed It Then Real Lifed It,' host Kelly Jackson delves into the transformative journey of motherhood, from difficulties conceiving to miscarriage to rainbow baby and beyond, particularly focusing on conscious parenting. Sharing her personal experiences and challenges, Kelly explores the importance of emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and breaking generational cycles to create a nurturing and supportive environment for her children.

    From the Episode:

    • "Motherhood, it's one of the most intense, transformative, and beautiful experiences we can have."
    • "...it's that season of hope, heartbreak, hope, heartbreak, hope, heartbreak, and it's a cycle, right?"
    • "I did not have a regulated nervous system. I didn't even know what that meant. And I certainly didn't have one."
    • "...if I had kept going the way I was going, that wasn't the environment I wanted to create for them. And I knew that they deserved better and that I could be better "
    • "I'm telling you that, yeah, I used to raise my voice. I used to have not a lot of patience...even though I was a wonderful mom in so many ways, I was also not present in so many ways, and I was also not who they needed me to be."
    • "...motherhood invites us to dream bigger for both ourselves and our children."

    Notes and Considerations:

    • The opening reel I played was from Instagram by the accounts @abcdoula and @newborncare
    • The girls were actually 5 & 7 by the time we started Generation Mindful by Suzanne Tucker. They were 3 & 5, nearing their birthdays, when we first moved into our apartment. And it was over a year before my intentional journey towards conscious parenting led me to Generation Mindful, which I feel like was a relatively new company at the time. Click here to go to the Generation Mindful website.
    • The song I played at the end was called "The Feelings Song" by Heidi Rojas Music, and I was playing it from YouTube
