  • Episode 103: Jesus Christ-The Sure Anchor
    2026/07/28

Thank you for stopping by. Life raises hard questions. Oasis of Hope brings them to God's Word.

Hosted by Drs. Johnson and Feyi Obamehinti, this Christian faith and biblical teaching podcast offers scripture-grounded conversation on the real challenges believers face: spiritual growth, faith, relationships, cultural pressures, and living a kingdom life in a complex and complicated world. Each episode is rooted in prayer, anchored in truth, and offered with pastoral warmth to followers of Christ around the globe. Wherever you are in your walk with God, there is hope here!

Scripture Reference: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek” – Hebrews 6:19-20

We appreciate your continuous engagement within the Oasis community. We love hearing how you are growing in Christ and bearing your cross daily as you walk with God in our world. We are grateful to God and count it an honor to serve you, your families and communities. In this episode 103, we discuss the importance of an anchor and hope in God in chaotic times. Just like a ship’s anchor steadies the vessel by sinking its arms into the seabed, so that the ship is not tossed about during turbulent waves, our anchor in Christ steadies our souls and keeps us standing no matter the chaos in our world. Let us thank God for this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure!

We proceed to discuss how our hearts is the seat of life as Proverbs 4:23 clearly states: “Guard your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” Paying attention to the climate of our hearts and showing up for continuous check-ups with the Holy Spirit is essential to all followers of Christ to live out a life that produces godly fruits and testifies of the indwelling power of God. The fruits that our lives produce either testifies to the light of Christ or satan’s darkness. Let us continue to make room for the light of Christ to shine through our lives for the glory of God!

Lastly, we answer the question from one of our Oasis community brethren on how resentment develops and takes root in a heart. Resentment is a root of unforgiveness that becomes a stronghold in the life of a person. It develops in the climate of resisting God’s will. Let us be reminded that God’s will is His entire Word (Bible). To grow in our walk with God, involves a daily surrender to the will of God.

With back to school upon us, we pray God’s abundant blessings on families as they prepare for a new school year. We pray for God’s fresh grace on all educators as they impact students’ lives in this new school year. We pray for God’s covering on our communities for this upcoming school year.

    In Christ's Love,

  • Episode 102: Life Analogy Human Heart
    2026/06/13

Scripture Reference: “But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” – Matthew 13: 8-9

We appreciate all your feedback from the last episode 101 about the ministry of the Holy Spirit in the lives of followers of Christ. We are grateful to God and count it an honor to serve you, your families and communities. In this episode 102, we examine some life analogy of how the human heart must be good ground for the Word of God to flourish in our lives as Christ’s ambassadors. The word “heart” appears over 1000 times in the Bible. This tells us how important God places a high priority on the human heart. Keeping our hearts pure is a calling for all followers of Christ, because the human heart is prone to distraction, deception and destruction. The condition of our hearts as Christ’s followers determine how deep the Word of God can take root and bear godly fruits in our lives.

You can now join many across the nation to pray continuously for our nation, leaders, systems and for others. Through the platform- America Prays, join hearts in prayer for God’s continued blessings upon America and its precious people.

Our Savior Jesus Christ showed us the Father’s heart through the model Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6: 9-13. This is a reminder of God’s perfect love for His people. As we celebrate fathers this month, we pray God’s blessings on all fathers far and near. Happy Father’s Day. With summer time upon us, we hope you and your families have a fun and restful time.

  • Episode 101: Pentecost- In Step With The Holy Spirit
    2026/05/15

Scripture Reference: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” - John 14:26

A nation that sets its gaze towards God is a nation that God will bless! (Psalm 33:12- “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom He hath chosen for His own inheritance”). As a nation we get to rededicate USA to the LORD as part of the 250th celebration of the independence of our nation on May 17, 2026. We encourage Christians no matter where you are to participate in prayer, worship and thanksgiving. Let us usher in the healing balm of the LORD as we follow through the scripture truth from 2 Chronicles 7:14- “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Followers of Christ all around the world are also setting their gaze towards Pentecost. This year Pentecost falls on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Pentecost is a celebration of the blessing of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples of Christ as explained in the Book of Acts 2: 1-31. The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity that abides with believers (Romans 8:11). The Holy Spirit helps us to live in accordance to God’s ways. Our lives are under God’s eternal governance and require His truth to ensure Christ’s body of believers are exactly who He created us to in our world. In a time that there are myriads of deceptions, masquerading as truth, it is important for followers of Christ to stake their lives on the unshakable truth of God's Word. The Word of God has the power to do the following in our daily lives:

    • Sustain believers (Jeremiah 15:16-18)
    • Feed believers (1 Peter 2:2)
    • Quench believers’ thirst (John 4:14)
    • Fill believers (Colossians 3:16-18)
    • Wash believers (Ephesians 5:20)

We need the help of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives to sustain us, feed us, quench thirst, fill us and wash us daily in God’s holy Word. Without His guidance, assistance and friendship followers of Christ tend to lose their way in a chaotic world. As we look towards Pentecost this year, we encourage you to cultivate a deep friendship with the Holy Spirit. The impact and fruit from a Holy Spirit governed life brings honor and glory to God! (John 15:5).
