Season two of On Track with Jon Ali comes to a close with Bright Light Bright Light!

Welsh-born singer-songwriter-producer Rod Thomas aka Bright Light Bright Light has been a staple of the international LGBTQ+ music scene for over ten years, having released three prior albums and touring as both a solo artist and as support alongside pop royalty like Elton John, Cher, Erasure, Ellie Goulding and Scissor Sisters. He also collaborated with Elton on his 2016 banger “All In The Name” which he also performed with the music legend on The Graham Norton Show, making him the first indie act to do so.

On this episode, Jon Ali dives into what Bright Light has been up to since the pandemic started, his time growing up in South Wales, his journey into music, from the very beginning to the present, the making of his brand-new star-studded album Fun City, as well as plans for the future and much more.

Jon Ali continues season two of his On Track interview series with Boy Radio!

Raised in Southern California, by a single mom, Jordan Hall aka Boy Radio now resides in Brooklyn. With a couple of college years under his dance belt, he eventually made the decision to pursue a career in music with the likes of Boy George and divas like Madonna, Grace Jones, Janet Jackson and Britney Spears as sources of inspiration. Jordan Hall is mighty force at a towering 6'5 alone, but over the last few years he's been steadily making a name for himself beyond that with his consistent string music releases, all leading to his first full-length project: Pop That, an eclectic and innoative 14-track musical journey, released in 2019.

On this episode, Jon Ali dives into what Boy Radio has been up to since the pandemic started, their time growing up in Southern California, moving to NYC, the birth of Boy Radio, his debut project Pop That, the music he's starting to work on, as well as plans for the future and much more.

Jon Ali continues season two of his On Track interview series with Michael Love Michael!

As a Black child growing up queer and nonbinary in the Midwest, Michael didn’t always feel encouraged to be themselves. Their emotional sensitivity, effeminate appearance and artistic expression was shunned by those around them, so they retreated into writing and storytelling, and when they finally got a desktop computer at 16, they quietly made songs in their bedroom about their isolation, desperate for a way out of it. As 2020 yields a new revolution for marginalized voices, Michael, having broken free of societal restraints, is determined to use theirs to call attention to issues affecting the LGBTQ community and beyond.

On this episode, I dive into what Michael has been up to since the pandemic started, their time working in media, moving to NYC, making the jump to music, the release of their debut album XO, their brand new single “Apple,” as well as their plans for the future and much more.
