Culturally we Pacific Islanders are not good at asking the hard questions and giving the hard answers. It’s a poor excuse I know, but it’s a real one – more often than not we’ll sweep the Q&A under the mat and sleep on it, or mix a tanoa of Kava.
Well not anymore. Now that I am just old enough to be able to ask the tough questions and probe for the truth.
More importantly, I will lean on dear family to join me in sharing their views and expertise on key issues facing Fiji and our Pasifika brothers and sisters in areas like gender equality, finance, the law and our rights, climate change and our Pacific ocean, Women’s rights, politics and governance, sports, especially Women’s sports, tourism, religion and social issues.
As you may know, we Pacific Islanders have really big families and mine includes Richard Naidu, Cathy Wong, Robert Wolfgramm, Imrana Jalal, Taholo Kami, Judy Compain, Graham Leung, Andrew Walkden-Brown, James Bhagwan, Vijay Naidu and Raymond Stoddart.
