In Season 4 of Star Trek: Discovery, the crew faces a powerful cosmic threat causing catastrophic destruction across the galaxy known as the Dark Matter Anomaly or the DMA. This phenomenon destroys Kwejian, Book's home planet, taking from him his family, culture, and hope. Captain Burnham, now five months into her leadership role, must lead her crew on a mission to investigate the Anomaly while managing the political and diplomatic fallout from the events of the Burn.
