#7: Stephen McCorry is recovery coach, author, father of two sons, and person in recovery from Lansing, Michigan. Recently while on the phone chatting with a friend in his car, something clicked in Stephen's mind. What he affectionately calls a 'moment of lucidity,' Stephen had the realization and appreciation of how far he had come in his life. It was an epiphany that he had the ability to meaningfully contribute to a conversation and speak life to folks that need it. Six years ago, this was not the case.

Check out the conversation to hear Stephen's story of active addiction and journey to find recovery, and learn what changed in the six years that now allows him to show up with intention everyday. We discuss this and more, including:

    • His journey with faith in prison and when he was "the lowest he will ever be."
    • Stephen's realization that the only way he would be happy is by doing the things he is supposed to do, not the things he wants to do.
    • How fatherhood has shaped his life's purpose and taught him the importance of being a good teacher and encourager.
