  • Furness Show 5-21: Eddie Olczyk, Eno Sarris, Corbin Smith
    2026/05/21

Ian did not commit a sports sin last night, abstaining from the NBA. There's plenty to talk about with the Mariners, specifically with JP Crawford making his own decision to move to third base. Eddie Olczyk, National NHL Analyst joins Ian to give us a look at the NHL playoffs as a whole and where the Kraken are heading in their future. Edzo says Seattle needs a star, and they don't have one right now. Mariners and piggyback! JP Crawford is willing to move positions to stay with the Mariners. That speaks a lot about him. Ian talks about what it really means. JP should be celebrated for this. Who should be the backup catcher? Eno Sarris, The Athletic joins Ian to give his thoughts on Colt Emerson's debut, as well as JP Crawford's flexibility to move to third base. JP deserves his flowers for his bat, regardless of what we've seen in the decline defensively. Eno also addresses the potential damage that bringing up players 'too early' can do. Of course, we have to talk about "piggybacking" with pitchers. Finally, we have to talk about Mason Miller and the Athletics. The Daily Power Play! Corbin Smith, Emerald City Spectrum joins us to give us some perspective on the NFL schedule release and what it means for the Seahawks. There's no such thing as a perfect schedule, but this worked out pretty well for Seattle. Two of the final three on the road isn't great, but Ian likes the collegiate feel of it. What can Riley Mills do for this team? We also delve into the running back situation, as well as the defensive backfield. Checking in on the Talkbacks and Texts! Crosstalk with Softy!

  • Furness Show 5-20: Mariners miscues, John Canzano and the NBA woes
    2026/05/20

The Mariners just blew it last night and while Ian acknowledges that we might not know everything that went into the decisions that were made, we're allowed to be critical. It's a bad look that Dan Wilson doesn't know the rules. Dan Wilson and Bryce Miller both responded to last night's game and we take a listen to what they had to say. Why take Bryce out when he did? Luis Castillo is too valuable to be a reliever. A wild card spot is not good enough for the Mariners this year. John Canzano, Bald Faced Truth joins Ian to talk about all of the horrible coaching and managing decisions he's seen throughout his career. Sports are supposed to be interesting. He gives us the truth behind what's going on with Tom Dundon and the Trailblazers. How and why did Adam Silver let this happen? John fills us in on the "new Pac-12" and what's going on with the Mountain West lawsuit. We also hear from Iowa State's AD, who says we should all break away from these new 'power conferences'. The realignment we're continuing to see in college football remains greedy. The power plays we're seeing are ruining what makes the sport great and Ian misses the true competition. In The Daily Power Play, Ian tells you why you should be paying attention to the NHL playoffs. The NHL and NBA playoffs are underway right now. Ian says he does not plan to watch the Pukes and Spurs tonight, but he will confess if he ends up doing so. Although Ian hates the Pukes with a passion, he very much respects what Sam Presti has done. Ian relates it back to Seattle. Does OKC still live in your head? We check in on the MANY talkbacks and texts and finally, talk to Softy.

  • Furness Show 5-19: Joe Sheehan and John Lund
    2026/05/19

Mariners won big yesterday and Colt Emerson's first dinger should be highlighted. Criticism of Dan Wilson's in-game decisions are warranted, but the injuries the stars have been dealing with aren't on him. Do the OKC Thunder still live rent free in your head? Bryan Woo has returned to true form, criticism of JP Crawford is warranted and there are still fair questions about management. There are questions about Dan Wilson's management and we listen back to what Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop had to say about it yesterday. The worst owner in sports is at it again in Portland. Worst owner in sports owns the Trailblazers and it's straight out of the Clay Bennett handbook. Ian would be happy to see Samantha Holloway and the Kraken ownership group as the next member of the club. Joe Sheehan, The Joe Sheehan Newsletter joins us to give a 30,000-foot view of the Mariners and where they are right now. How critical is the manager situation with Dan Wilson right now? Joe touches in on JP Crawford, Cal Raleigh and what we're seeing with their lack of production. Cal deserves a reset and should not have to deal with the expectations from last year. What separates Mason Miller from the rest of the pack? We invite you into the Daily Power Play! John Lund, Unleashed! And Westwood One joins Ian in his usual cantankerous manner to discuss the horrific ownership we're seeing with the Trailblazers and the international NFL games we're seeing this year - specifically with the 49ers. The NFL is clearly doing this for the money and it has nothing to do with what's good for the players. Is there any way we can see a Super Bowl overseas? They can pretty much do whatever they want. We check the talkbacks and texts and finally, talk to Softy.

  • Furness Show 5-18: Ian is back! Mollywhop Monday with Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop, plus Seahawks schedule
    2026/05/18

Ian tells us about his weekend and he had a great time at Cheney Stadium watching the Rainiers. He pays tribute to what Tacoma does to create an awesome environment for the fans. The Mariners are inconsistent, which might be their best attribute right now. There is a net positive from getting guys healthy, but the lack of offensive production throughout the Padres sweep in Seattle is troubling. The AL West allows the Mariners to sleepwalk through this division, so that's good news - but they need to get it going. The NFL schedule is out, and Ian is wondering why the league even doesn't know why they bother doing a huge show on the NFL Network when the leaks let us know what games will happen. Ian tells you what he thinks about the matchups and dates we see on the Seahawks' schedule. The NFL made some good decisions when it comes to primetime.
12:45 - Ian likes the changeup with NBC/Peacock doing Sunday Night Baseball. However, he takes issues with some points made. Mollywhop Monday! Chris Crawford and Nathan Bishop join to breakdown the Mariners getting swept by the Padres this weekend. How fair is the criticism toward Dan Wilson right now? Chris has plenty to say about it right now but also doesn't think the team will make a change right now. Chris says he would consider it because Wilson isn't making them better right now. Nathan brings up all the positive things we're seeing at the plate and in the field, and despite the losses we're seeing, there's plenty to be happy about. Nathan also weighs in on Dan Wilson. There are plenty of stats that back up the poor performance of Wilson as a manager. Chris and Nathan discuss the handling of Cal Raleigh's injury and what that looks like moving forward. Mollywhop finishes off to discuss Colt Emmerson and what the realistic expectations for him as he just recently got called up. They preview the series with the White Sox. Ian wraps up our Mollywhop conversation and doesn't like to call for people's jobs, but this is going to be a serious series for Dan Wilson with the White Sox. The team can't scuffle right now, but it's not necessarily all on Dan Wilson. Aaron Rai wins the PGA Championship, and Ian pays tribute to what he did this weekend, as well as what his family did for him growing up. Ian finally gets to break down the Seahawks schedule as it was released last week. He takes issue with the fact they're ending their season for the third straight year on back-to-back road games. We check in on the talkbacks and texts and finally, talk to Softy!

  • Furness Show 5-15: Anders and Jess in! Danny O'Neil and Ty Dane Gonzalez
    2026/05/15

Anders and Jess are in for Ian and we are taking a deep dive into the Seahawks official schedule.
12:30 - If you said the Mariners would be a game out of first place with the lacking we've seen from those we have higher expectations for this season - would you be ok with it prior to this season? Anders and Jess discuss where the roster is lacking and their confidence levels on them coming back. We shouldn't have to wait for the rest of the conference to suck to believe in the Mariners' ability to get to and win in the postseason. Time to dive into the Mariners' pitching rotation and what we're seeing there. The World Cup is coming to Seattle and Anders is pumped for it to not only be in America, but to be in his hometown. Ticket prices are dropping, and that's a good sign for fans to be able to attend. Danny O'Neil, The Dang Apostrophe! Danny used to hate NFL schedule releases, but with the changes in broadcasting, he thinks it's fun now. He thinks when it comes to International games, most coaches and GMs would choose that travel over Hard Knocks. The Seahawks took one for the team on doing the show this year. There are a ton of distractions with Seahawks' rivals this off-season. Is Danny drinking the Rams' Kool-Aid? Finally, Danny sees a favorable first half of the season for the Seahawks and that Mike Macdonald has a more buttoned-down approach than Pete Carroll did. Ty Dane Gonzalez, Locked on Mariners joins us to talk about what we've seen from the Mariners. Should Cal have gone to the IL earlier than now? At least they didn't wait too long for what seemed like an inevitable decision. If you look at the state of catching around the league, they're not in a bad situation with Mitch Garver behind the plate. Ty and Anders dive into the 6-man rotation and whether it's the best decision for the team right now. We check the texts and crosstalk with Dick Fain.

  • Furness Show 5-14: Anders, Jackson and Jess in! Cristian Roldan, Corbin Smith and Eno Sarris
    2026/05/14

Sounders won big last night, and Jackson discusses how big it was for the team. Cal Raleigh heads to the 10-day DL - how are we feeling about him at this time? He needs some time off and a full uniform shower can only do so much. Bryce Miller is BACK! We discuss the work he did to get back, considering how much he had to do to get right between Everett and Tacoma. Softy's sources tell him many of the Seahawks' scheduled games prior to the actual release, and we look at what this season could look like for Seattle. There are leaks out for the NFL schedule right now - when looking ahead, how much should we realistically expect from the Seahawks this year? The World Cup is coming up and one of the hopefuls to make the US National Team, Cristian Roldan joins us to talk about the Sounders win last night and his potential to be a part of the World Cup. Corbin Smith, Emerald City Spectrum joins Anders and Jackson to talk about the NFL schedule release and what it means for the Seahawks. How much does this schedule release actually matter? Corbin nerds out with the guys. He's also really high on the opening quarter of the season for Seattle and 100% sees what he expected with the primetime games they were awarded. Corbin thinks there's good reason to see the Seahawks start 6-0. The NFC West is gonna be the hardest focus for Seattle. The Daily Power Play! Eno Sarris, The Athletic joins Anders and Jackson as we are wrapping up the Mariners game in Houston. He breaks down Bryce Miller's first start back from the IL. What do the numbers say about six-man rotations throughout history? Eno says it benefits a playoff-bound team. The Dodgers are doing it without even announcing it. Also, why is Houston so bad right now? Finally, what are some reasonable expectations for Cal Raleigh this season after he set the bar so high last year? We check the talkbacks and texts and finally, speak to Softy.

  • Furness Show 5-13: Bobby Casper, Stewart Mandel, John Lund
    2026/05/13

NFL Schedule release is tomorrow, but leaks are already out. We know the International games and the Seahawks will not have one this year. Ian is happy about that because he hates the International games. Why does the NFL have to step on every other sport's toes? Ian doesn't think the new Seahawks owner will be under any pressure for a new stadium. We dive back into the NFL schedule. What are the best NFL stadiums to visit? Bobby Casper, Real Golf Radio joins Ian to preview the PGA Championship this weekend. What does the potential demise of LIV golf mean to the sport? Bobby takes us through the numbers. Ian looks back of the Seahawks' performances on Thanksgiving and the most recent one was at the end of Pete Carroll's regime. They're likely to get a holiday game this year. Cal Raleigh broke his slump...by showering in his uniform? There are a lot of things to still be concerned about. We hear from Charles Barkley who did the same thing, but for a different reason. With everything going wrong for the Mariners, they're still a game out of first place - and Ian thinks they'll be just fine. Stewart Mandel, The Athletic joins Ian to talk about the off-field news we're seeing right now with players getting denied at NIL deals, specifically at Nebraska right now. He explains the process. After the expansion we're seeing in the NCAA tournament, what does the future of the CFP look like? Stewart doesn't want expansion in the CFP because it would ruin the regular season. The Daily Power Play! John Lund, Unleashed! And Westwood One is on time today! Wait, he is 24 hours late, so the odds might not be in your favor. John says he's going with the Niners to both Australia AND Mexico City. Who did they piss off to get TWO of the nine international games? The Rams have no fans. The guys discuss the purpose of the international games and that most people go for the experience overseas, rather than them being true fans. Checking in on the Texts and Talkbacks! Crosstalk with Softy!

  • Furness Show 5-12: Joe Sheehan, Mariners, Howard Schultz article
    2026/05/12

The gall that Howard Schultz has in the op-ed he wrote is appalling. Ian is not impressed by the NBA right now...and he admits that he watched it last night. Regardless of whether or not Schultz is correct, he shouldn't be the voice of the problem. The NCAA Tournament expansion reminds Ian of what's TOO MUCH when it comes to sports. NFL International is a good example. How much does the NFL schedule release matter? Other sports do it better. Ian doesn't like leaks. What are the worst ideas in sports? Joe Sheehan, The Joe Sheehan Newsletter! Is the salary cap good for baseball? Joe tells us how worried we should be about Cal Raleigh at this point of the season. The Daily Power Play! How bad are the Mariners and how much do you care about the NFL schedule release? Checking in on the Texts and Talkbacks! Crosstalk with Softy!
