  • Princess Margaret Radiothon - David Glabais
    2024/11/23
Host Ben Mulroney is joined by David Glabais, Throat Cancer Patient. David is one of Toronto’s most beloved guitar teachers who faced a life-changing diagnosis of throat cancer in October 2023 at age 61. Undergoing rigorous treatment, including 35 rounds of radiation, 5 rounds of chemotherapy, and participation in a clinical trial at Princess Margaret, David transformed his fear into determination. Music became his anchor, helping him process his journey and inspiring him to continue teaching and giving back. David channeled his experience into organizing Unbreakable, a benefit concert at Massey Hall in November 2024 which featured classic pop and rock hits, to celebrate hope and raised over $100K for Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

  • Princess Margaret Radiothon - Kerri Parslow
    2024/11/23
Host Ben Mulroney is joined by Kerri Parslow, Ovarian Cancer Survivor. After losing her aunt to ovarian cancer in 2017, Kerri founded Law Suits, a charity event featuring Canadian lawyers walking in a fashion show to raise funds for Princess Margaret. A year later, Kerri discovered she carried the faulty BRIP1 gene, predisposing her to ovarian cancer. In 2022, a preventative surgery revealed stage 0 ovarian cancer, an aggressive form of the disease. Kerri underwent five rounds of preventative chemotherapy over 4 months. Grateful for her early diagnosis and exceptional care, she has since become a PMCF board member and relaunched Law Suits to continue raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Now two years cancer-free with an excellent prognosis, Kerri credits early detection and the dedicated care team at Princess Margaret for saving her life. Her story is a powerful testament to the life-saving impact of early detection and world-class cancer care.
