  • The Greatest Crypto Heist of All Time
    2022/08/06

Steven (@stevenray) and Ray (@raydawg88) kick-off this episode of UX Weekly discussing chairs and the level of design snobbery achieved once you only buy Herman Miller chairs. In true user experience design fashion, they decide function over form is essential day-to-day, that comfy design is better than cool design.

Backtracking into the wonderful world of print design— Steven and Ray share how catalogs made their childhoods. Ray shares a story of a local newspaper that’s racking in 100 million— claiming that people will pay just to see their name. This story coupled with their catalog nostalgia gets the guys dreaming up a similar business— a local newspaper, sexy typography, and a design magazine.

Lastly, Steven and Ray share their experiences with being everyone’s random computer support guy just because they work in tech. From Norton Antivirus to observing his neighbor’s workflow, these mediocre IT guys, aka Product Designers, recommend, “you just get a new computer.” Ray ends this episode of UX Weekly with a story of the greatest heist of all time, crypto style.

Steven and Ray want to hear all about your dope ass futon, and anything else you have to say, so leave them some feedback in the comments. ❤️

  • Add on services Figma, Sketch, Jira. YouTube as a social platform?
    2022/08/05

On this episode of UX Weekly, Steven (@stevenray) and Ray (@raydawg88) discuss time management for designers and freelancers— debating whether or not using an app to track the time their UX designers take on each project is micromanaging or not. They also start brainstorming the simplest, dumbest product they can make— figuring out a tagalong app for Figma.

Because they’re old, Steven and Ray remind us that programs used to crash all the time. They also dive back into design snobbery and the ‘teams’ UX and Product designers are on— with Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD.

This episode of UX Weekly ends with the guys critiquing YouTube and then designing user experience solutions for turning it into a true social platform. As always, they want your feedback, so tell them some shit about some stuff in the comments. ❤️
