When Quiet Carl, the most forgettable guy in Autumn Heights, turns up dead the entire town is mystified. This includes the police, who look at the person who found Carl as the main suspect.

Vi Resoudre has a sixth sense about death. Or maybe it would be better to say she has a tour guide. For years she has been able to see what she calls Grimms, short for Grim Reapers. Now one has landed her in hot water, as it was Vi who stumbled across Carl's body.

With a teenage daughter named Cat, a cat named Boo, and a Grimm following her around, Vi needs to figure out the truth about Quiet Carl before the police from Autumn Heights lock up the wrong person!
