I once heard a shocking statistics from George Barna (Growing True Disciples), which said that 32 percent of those who give their life to Christ are between the ages of five to 13. Yet by my experience of being in church, this group is the most ignored when it comes to Bible reading, discipleship, or the true life of what makes believers.

How many times do you go to a Bible study group and find children in the ages of five to 13? Many times they are directed towards coloring, painting, dance; anything else that caters to their physical needs.

Incidentally, the same week that I heard George Barna’s statistics; Kenneth Copeland in one of his messages said that his three-year-old son got Born Again after he preached to him for one and a half hours. In that message you explained that whilst a child may be not be mentally able to comprehend deep spiritual truths; they are spiritually able to do so!

When I heard this, I was sparked to look at scriptures that relate to young people that were used by God and to my amazement, there were numerous young people used by God.

Young people and children have always been part of God's plan.

I really pray that the Scriptures we are about to read will not only help us to understand that God uses young people, but to help us to change the policies we implement. Paul says we should know no man after the flesh, though we used to know Christ that way we do so no longer. Everyone must be willing to know young people by the spirit; speak to them by the spirit, and create the atmosphere that allows them to function by the spirit of God.
