Delilah Jane sank into the table and wondered how she had gotten into this mess. She had tried so very hard to walk away from that life, leave it behind and not look back. She never asked to be born into a crime family, or to be trained as a driver for a car theft ring. But when it became too much, when they had started dragging her kid into it, she had had enough.
