    2025/12/09

Folks, we are ditching our guests and talking about the Beastie Boys 3rd album and it will make you say "DAMN!"

We talk about our various types of whips, the worst airplane movies, and Rob tries to talk Pat O'Brien. Then we sing along with Snow and go on a comment rabbit hole. Rob goes on a winning streak, Matt talks inflatables, and Big Daddy takes on the big Easy.

Then we talk the boys playing their own instruments, the great music of the 90s, and whether or not an eclectic album is a good thing.

Next week we are talking New Order "Power, Corruption, and Lies" and you should also listen to some versions of Blue Monday!

We get a pleasureable voicemail where Russ has to face his greatest letdowns, Aaron tells his most pathetic story ever, and we ask if there are any good restaurants in Edina that won't make you wait!

Then we talk about the Slits and the best female punk bands from Kurt Cobain's journal.

  • 259. Janis Joplin: Pearl (1971)
    2025/11/25

We talk about one of the greatest voices of our generation and of course I am talking about Russ and why he won't come to NYC for thanksiving (being forced to go to parades.)

We are talking about Janis Joplin- Pearl and we are blown away by the album. Great music, great voice, and just like Matt's love- language, the album is a touching tribute to a singer who died before the release.

Aaron went to an 85 yeart olds birthday party and Rob is being disrepectful. Then we talk our favorite port arthur texas alums and explore Janis' short but bright career.

Then I add on 10 minutes of the George Micheal's epsode at the end.

  • 258. Joni Mitchell: The Hissing of Summer Lawns (1975)
    2025/11/18

Folks, I'm not going to lie. This is an episode that Russ woke up in his record player chair just before recording.... Why? Listen and find out!

We become the Best joni mitchell podcast when we talk about her moving from pop to experimental with the album about the sprinklers and the suburbs. We have lots of fun lists this episode that everyone loves and does NOT get mad at. We get a voicemail about the problem with listening to our podcast, why my. mouth is so weak, and Aaron's bad day coaching.

Then Russ takes us on a tour of his day which will shock you and your liver. Then lets all adjust our tone, grab our ice cream and talk Joni Mitchell, famous flautists, and shortlived grammy categories.

Next week we hit the JJs with Janis Joplin and Pearl.

  • 257. Dolly Parton: Coat Of Many Colors (1971)
    2025/11/11

We are talking about Coats of Many Colors and we become a great Dolly Parton podcast when we talk about her 1971 breakout hit. We learn more about Aaron, talk about driving across parking lots, and getting turnt up for Halloween. Then we have a serious conversation about reflecting on the tone we use when someone makes us dinner and we harass them.

Then we hit the best songs inspired by the good book and what would happen if Rob hung with Armwreslters at Truck stops.

  • 255. Tracy Chapman: Tracy Chapman (1988) Baseball Version
    2025/11/04

I am releasing two episodes and this one has the reactions to the world series game going on as we recorded. Listen to the other version if you do NOT want baseball.

This week we become the best Tracy Chapman podcast as we talk about Fast Car, the best pop vocals of all time, our driving, and everyone's favorite: Deviled Eggs.

Then we chat Chapmans amazing start, metoric rise, and how this album was both influcenced by the sound of the time and influenced a lot of the 90's folk pop scene.

Call 802 277 BECK to interact with us! That sounds weird as hell.

  • 254. Bob Dylan: The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (1963)
    2025/10/28

I would like to report a crime. That this is so low on this list! (High number)

We listen to folky Bob Dylan and it whips ass! Before we become the 1 millionth podcast to (barely) talk Bob Dylan we have a few other very important things to talk about.

We talk gambling, the death of Single Russell, we get a voicemail about Taylor Swift, and Matt and Rob's time in the city.

Then we get into the scariest songs according to Billboard Magazine, Paul McCartney Live, and candy packs.

Then we break down the album and its just great. Duh

Next up Tracy Chapman: Fast Car.
