Hello, everyone! Welcome back to the CSB Check-In! I'm Nick Wapachee, and we're thrilled to be back on-air for our 17th episode! Today's show is packed with exciting and informative segments that are sure to keep you engaged. We have something for everyone – community members, students, and parents alike. So, let's dive right in!
The first part of our show is called "Did You Know?", we will be sharing information about the Cree School Board. Get ready to discover some interesting facts!
Next up, we'll bring you the latest newsletter as a teaser. Stay updated on the stories that happened in our schools and communities.
March is Cree language month in Eeyou/Eenou Istchee. We are all encouraged to speak, read and learn to write in Cree. The Cree Language Commission is inviting people to participate in weekly activities promoting Cree Language this month.
At the Cree School Board, we honour this month and dedicate it to all the Elders who took part in The Iyiyiuwayihtimuwin / Iinuuweyhtamuwin – Elder and Traditional Knowledge Keeper Teachings Video Project. It's a beautiful tribute to the wisdom they've shared with us over the years.
You’ll hear teachings from Clymie Blackned Weistche from Waskaganish, Daniel and Mary Bosum from Ouje-Bougoumou, Lucy and Samson Petagumskum from Whapmagoostui, and Winnie Gull Saganash from Waswanipi who will share teachings to us.
And finally, if you or someone you know is looking for job opportunities, we have great news! There are many jobs available at the CSB, and we'll be sharing all the details.
Stay with us as we embark on this journey together. I'm Nick Wapachee, your guide through the world of Cree education. Let's dive in!
