I was on board before I even downloaded this book - and turns out I was safe to judge it by its cover. Newitz has created a richly imagined and morally corrupt future in which both life-saving and mind-altering drugs are heavily controlled by big pharma patents, and where both humans and robots live side by side - some indentured, some having gained “autonomy”. Autonomous is as addictive as it is thought-provoking, and I can’t wait to see what comes next for Newitz.
