あらすじ・解説
The Ontario Warriors historic season came to an end on Friday in Tiffin, as the Warriors fell to Sandusky Perkins, 28-21, at Frost-Kalnow Stadium. Perkins scored the go-ahead TD with just :39 seconds left in the game to advance to play Glenville in the state semi-finals next week. Ontario fell behind 14-0, after a fumble and a short punt, which the Pirates short TD runs of 5 and 10 yards from senior running back, Isaac Bunts, who had all 4 TD's for Perkins. Ontario would not go away, and answered with a TD run by Bodpegn Miller late in the 1st Q to cut the lead to 14-7. The 2nd quarter was scoreless, and 14-7 was the halftime score on a cold, windy and rainy night. Perkins scored early in the 3rd quarter to take a 21-7 lead, but again - the Warriors would answer big time! Ontario got a 1 yard TD run from Miller 4 seconds into the 4th Q, but the PAT was blocked. Ontario then recovered an onside kick by freshman Kooper Kilgore, and remember that name, as Kilgore had a huge 2nd half running the football for the Warriors, as he leaped a defender, and darted into the end zone from 18 yards out to pull Ontario with 2 points. Bodpegn pushed his way into the end zone for the 2 point conversion to tie the game at 21-21 with 8:45 to play. However, Perkins got the ball back and scored the game winning TD with :39 seconds left on a 8 yard run by Bunts, who finished with 200 yards rushing and all 4 Perkins TD's. Ontario ends the great season in school history at 12-2. Bodpegn Miller (3,577) is now the schools all-time career rushing leader, as he passed Jordan Campbell's mark of 3,556. Kilgore led Ontario in rushing with 73 yards, Miller added 2 TD's and 46 yards rushing. Mason Vantilburg added 51 yards on the ground. *Game aired live on WMAN with Aaron Hines and Erik Will
