Pregnancy offers its share of unique health problems for the expectant mother. That's why the experts at The National Parenting Center have collected some guidelines to make the mom-to-be's life a little more bearable. You'll find advice on urinary tract infections, gas, varicose veins, colds, heartburn, asthma, herpes, diarrhea, and the hazards of air pollution. The very serious concerns of drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes for the pregnant woman are also addressed.

In Health Questions During Pregnancy, Part 2 from The National Parenting Center, OB/GYN specialist Dr. Peter Weiss discusses UTIs, increased heartburn, gas, having a cold while pregnant, herpes, diarrhea, air pollution, asthma, smoking, drugs, caffeine, and alcohol. The pediatrician Dr. Alvin Eden, author of the best-selling book Healthy Kids also offers his advice about prevention. But as the helpful TNPC female moderator points out, these recordings aren't intended to provide expectant parents with "doom and gloom" forecasts. They simply aim to show women which normal physical responses to anticipate during a magical experience, and what lifestyle behaviors to avoid to increase the chances of a perfectly healthy pregnancy.
