このコンテンツについて
My virtual gastric band journey started back in February 2014.
After being pregnant with my two boys, I gained a lot of weight. I knew how to lose weight but seemed to live in this spiral of rebellion. I just didn’t seem to be able to get a handle on the control. I’d got to the point where I’d consider surgery.
Then I was Googling one night. I had looked at crash diets, shakes and had found raspberry ketones. I knew they didn’t work. They’re a waste of money but I just wanted to flick the switch in my head. So I Googled, "I just want to lose some weight!" I thought, "I wish someone could just get into my head, sort it out and close the door when they left." I wasn’t really that hungry in the first week at all but my body soon settled down into its own routine. I found I had been eating about two hours ahead of my natural hunger times. Some days I eat more, some days I eat less depending on what I am doing and how active I am.
Not much happened on the scales for the first couple of weeks and then it started melting off! I lost a stone in about a month, then over the next year, two more stone came off. Since then another stone has disappeared but the weight loss became a sideline perk very quickly. I slept better, I was more awake, my skin and hair improved, I became more active. I joined the gym and became the member of the month!
Then, after so many years of wanting to be able to, I tried running. I went for a slow plod round my village to see if I could do it. I did it, and I enjoyed it (this was the biggest shock!)
