A Hispanic father drives his son, Gus, to become the next Tiger Woods. However, when Gus is suspended by the PGA Tour, Gus returns home to Nogales, Arizona and is confronted by his father. Subsequently, Gus uncovers a secret from the past and as Gus deals with the new revelation, he rediscovers his love for the game and his father.
Vincent Perez wants the "American Dream" for all of his children; it is his contention that with success and assimilation, one receives acceptance and respect. Thus, Vincent chooses golf for his son Gustavo "Gus" Perez. However, Gus's charm and charisma, along with good looks attracts women, which is his achilles hill as he strives to become the best golfer in the world. But it is when Gus returns to Nogales that his world is turned upside down when he learns that he has a son.
