このコンテンツについて
When secrets are revealed . . . nothing is ever the same again.
After the successful closure of a case, William Carlotti has time before his flight; and so, decides to take a leisurely drive through the mountains of Oregon. There, he comes upon the seemingly serene community of Oasis. A place where everything is perfect.
Back home in the town of Arroyo, things have calmed down after the conclusion of the recent killings and kidnapping and Connie Davenport’s duties as Arroyo’s chief of police have also returned to some level of normalcy.
When William returns to Arroyo, he expects to settle into that same level of normalcy; splitting his time between his job as a FBI Profiler and the co-owner of the Get Away Diner. However, he can’t stop thinking about his encounter with the Oregon community and why he feels there is something sinister about the place.
Is William’s gut feeling, right? To find out, Connie goes undercover in the community. It is not long before she embraces the communities’ life style and doctrine. William, Connie’s grandfather, and ex-husband Matthew must fight to pull her free of the communities’ hold on her and to reveal the secrets of the people and the community. Exposing those secrets could lead to the collapse of the community and the discovery of members who have long ago been mourned or forgotten.
As all the secrets at the Oasis are exposed, Connie learns that several members of the Arroyo community have died in explainable or natural causes. She knows that one or two deaths in the town the size of Arroyo are understandable but as the death toll rises, Connie begins to explore other possibilities. With Jonathan and William’s help, she asks the difficult questions: is it a coincidence, does Arroyo have another serial killer in its midst or just a string of bad luck?
