このコンテンツについて

Gwendolyn S. Corbett’s new audiobook, The Light at the End of the COVID-19 Tunnel, is a heartwarming anthology meant to spread hope, positivity, and inspiration during and after the pandemic crisis. The book is a compilation of 22 poems and short stories written during COVID-19 from March 20, 2020 through May 8, 2021.

The theme of the writing is spiritual inspiration and nature-based. Some writing was inspired and written while hiking her rural property in Hocking Hills, Appalachia, and other in her backyard home in Worthington, Ohio, while being confined in lockdown during the early part of COVID-19. The main goal of the writing is to help heal the hearts and souls of the listeners. Additionally, the book is a call to action for people to work together in more positive ways for the sake of humanity and earth.

The poems and short stories came out of the blue and straight through Gwendolyn’s heart and soul. Sometimes a poem poured through her when she walked out the back door onto her patio and was touched by the warm rays of the sun or the freshness of a spring breeze. Other times, a poem downloaded into her when she saw a beautiful flower that was so full of hope and life when the world was lacking hope and feared death. Children’s laugher and dogs barking would ignite words which came readily to form yet another poem. Snow falling, or the wishes for snow falling, would inspire more prose.

Unique to the book is the resource section, which outlines the inspiration for the poems and brings the listener through various events and emotions that many people experienced during COVID-19.
