あらすじ・解説

At the dawn of human civilization, a blind prophet foretold the coming of one who would transform American literature forever, thrilling millions with his prose and debauching thousands with the meltingly seductive rhythm of his poetry. Now he has arrived. His name is Neal Pollack, the author of The Neal Pollack Anthology of American Literature, and he walks among us.

This historic audio event includes rare recordings, captured by Alan Lomax in 1936, of Pollack's collaboration with the hillbilly guitarist doc Thompson, who he subsequently murdered. Also included within are Pollack's complete basement poetry sessions from the dawn of the Beat Era, an exclusive interview with Pollack conducted by a bitter sycophant, and a bunch of filler that we slapped together with little care.

Nothing like this extraordinary collection exists.

Neal Pollack has been the Greatest Living American Writer across six decades, seven continents, and 10 wives. He has won the Pulitzer Prize, the Booker Prize, the PEN/Faulkner Award (twice), and the Premio Simon Bolivar for contributions to the people's struggle in Latin America. In 1985, Pollack's writing was declared "beyond our meager standards" by the Swedish Academy.

"Perhaps the greatest 'appearing act' since David Copperfield brought the Statue of Liberty back from the void." (AudioFile)
"One of the greatest satires of authorial vanity to come along since the actual career of Norman Mailer." (Rolling Stone)
