In this audiobook, I take a broad look at what mental toughness means. Because I have lived with adversity for most of my life, I’m often asked: "How do you deal with this?" This book is my response to that question. Mental toughness is the key to success.
I offer my definition of the concept based on my life experiences inside and outside of basketball, and the influences and lessons from my parents, coaches, teachers, teammates, friends, mentors, and colleagues over the years. I have had great fortune to witness real mental toughness in some amazing people I have met and situations I have been in. So, I relate examples and lessons of hard-won toughness I have seen up close and that have had a positive and permanent impact on me. I would like to offer you these stories from my life so you can look further into your own stories. Look into your past, pay attention to your present, and a create bright future.
Though my life experiences, I have discovered that all successful people share one trait - psychological resistance. The point is, I fail all the time, but it doesn’t stop me from taking the next challenge. That mindset is critical for me in my career. And it will be critical for you too. You have to be willing to live with what you do, with the life you create for yourself, whatever the result. So never stop trying.
