With postponements and FA Cup action, Newport County has found themselves in the middle of a winter break of sorts. So with time to kill, and it being far too cold outside to do anything else, Jamie, Rhys and Ian gathered together to take stock at the half-way point of the season.
Should we be in panic mode just yet? How big a loss is Bryn Morris? Why are our next four home games all nail-biting six pointers? Also discussed: a potential January transfer strategy; a dissection of Huw Jenkins’ update on the training ground, Rodney Parade, and more; and how we were royally messed around over Christmas by the fixture computer and our friends at Sky Sports.
We also have mid-season updates from our clubs in focus - Chepstow Town FC and Undy Women.
Also mentioned in the show was this fantastic article in The i from Daniel Storey on the club’s long-term vision.
We'll be back in due course. Drop us a line via your social media platform of choice if you have any thoughts you want to share. Thanks as always to the Riverside Sports Bar (the home of Welsh sports fans) for their valued support for the pod, and to Tinty & The Bucket Hats for letting us use Discoland as our theme tune. If you like what we do, you can throw us a few pennies on our ko-fi page to help with the pod's running costs.
Be good to yourselves and each other, and above all Keep It County!
