All mission personnel combined their knowledge and skills to advance progress in achieving the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel during the more than 60-day recovery mission. There are approximately 72,000 missing personnel from World War II in the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and the surrounding European and Mediterranean area.
