A Conversation with Tracey Young; overcoming demons of childhood traumas

  • サマリー

  • In this episode, we change direction a little in the conversations we've had here on the podcast. Tracey Young's focus is on childhood trauma and how this affects adults. Tracey is a social worker who is also working to help adults with childhood trauma.

From an entrepreneurial point of view, this shows how we can turn experience, skills and knowledge into work we can do for ourselves. And in Tracey's case helping young people and adults to understand a situation and make significant life-changing moves.

As we talked it became very obvious this is subject is so important for us all to be aware of and understand - and I left the conversation knowing that a lot more understanding is needed. I'm sure you will too.

See Tracy's story below and how she has helped, and will continue to help others.

"I’m Tracey, a wife, mother and Nanna to two beautiful grandsons.

I have an established career in the social care system working with 16 years experience with vulnerable adults A career that I never thought I could achieve due to my low confidence and self-esteem growing up.

My childhood was difficult and I experienced several traumas that have had a significant impact on me as an adult.

I made some decisions that weren’t good for me. I entered into an abusive relationship, became dependent on alcohol at one time, and put myself at risk from others, which is a common reaction to childhood trauma.

I now feel a need to help others to understand how childhood traumas can impact you in adulthood and how they can have a significant impact on your mental and physical health.

I want to show people how you can overcome these demons, feel good about yourself, know your self-worth, and become happy again!"
