MEET GOLDI

Maria Rosado - Brooklyn turned Virginia native, also known as Goldi, is a multi-faceted Artist who brings a much-needed twist on Soul, Elegant, thick woman energy to the often male-dominated Indie Music genre. Having originally been all about Hip-Hop and Painting, it was Maria’s mother and Father who Inspired her Soul, House, Latin, R&B and Alternative mashup of music. Her own talent as a songwriter came to her in the form of spoken word poetry, which of course should not be a huge shock for any Brooklyn girl who grew up with hip-hop in her Blood. Destined to live a life of Music stemming from her earliest days, Goldi, started singing and dancing at the age of fourteen. Encouraged by her mother, cousin, and Aunt, she began to perform and record. After a lengthy hiatus due to the tragedies, she has faced, she found her way back to performing and recording. These days she is all about allowing the vibe to flow and making you dance, with a sound that is a fusion of Latin, reggaeton, R&B, Jazz, Alternative and Soul – think somewhere between Erykah Badu, Teena Marie, Jill Scott and Adele. Within her 25 years of pushing, Goldi has Performed and opened for Artists such as: Vivian Greene, Nappy Roots and more. You can also catch her on Netflix’s Voices of Fire with the Grammy Award Winning Pharrell Williams! She has recently released a new single, “Let Me In” and is here to share it with us. AND SHANIAH GUNTER

Shaniah Gunter, a Norfolk, VA resident aged 21, actively participates in various organizations such as Teen with a Purpose and Learn Intercede Transform. She is recognized for her inspiring speeches and has been featured in publications like Creative Tongues: Teen with a Purpose Anthology Volume 1 and Word of Wisdom for Heart and Soul Volume 1. Shaniah enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, as well as attending church. Additionally, she manages her own YouTube Channel named Everyday Encouragement by Shaniah Gunter. Despite being born with Mild Cerebral Palsy, Shaniah has never allowed it to hinder her. She empowers and uplifts others to maintain a positive outlook daily. Serving as a cerebral palsy advocate, motivational speaker, and youth mentor, Shaniah is affectionately known as Shaniah the Cerebral Palsy Warrior. Since the age of 13, she has been speaking at various churches for youth day events. Shaniah has also appeared on multiple podcasts and radio shows.
