Summary
Aaron Hale, a disabled combat veteran, shares his inspiring story of overcoming challenges and achieving remarkable feats. After becoming blind due to an IED incident in Afghanistan and later deaf from an illness, Aaron refused to be defined by his disabilities. He sought out mentors and found inspiration from other blind individuals accomplishing amazing things. He started running and eventually became the first blind and deaf person to complete the Badwater 135, a grueling 135-mile ultra marathon in Death Valley. The Badwater 135 course covers three mountain ranges for a total of 14,600’ (4450m) of cumulative vertical ascent and 6,100’ (1859m) of cumulative descent. Aaron's story is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of finding ways to accomplish our goals despite our obstacles.
