  • Sound E-scapes: Grocery Store
    2024/09/08

Have you ever been walking through the grocery store and a song comes on that triggers a spur of memories that instantly transports you through time? Personally I think they collect some kind of data off of us every time we walk into the store, data that they then use to compile the perfect playlists, sales, and product lists for their customers. But when the Daredevil song came on I forgot all about the data dystopia in which we live and remembered running and jumping around with a blindfold on pretending I was Daredevil while blasting the song. So I decided what a great opportunity to make a new memory and pulled out my phone to record this week's Sound E-scape. I never realized how sound rich and interesting the grocery store could be until I listened to this one over a few times. I also never realized how vastly different the experience is to each and every individual within the same store, what was the Daredevil song to me was "the emo song" to this little girl talking to her mom. The song is "Bring me to life" by Evanescence for all of you that didn't grow up around 2003 and don't know it as the Daredevil song. It's fiyaaaaa🔥🔥, just like this idea was!

  • Paradigm
    2024/09/01

Paradigm is probably the easiest word to rhythm but I don't think I'll do that this time. This is a description so I should probably provide an inscription of this week's rendition. In this episode I debate whether or not to live life in zombie mode, an inside edition of my current mental health condition. When you have pattern recognition such as mine, you can't help but rhyme from time to time, but did you know that is a symptom of schizophrenia? It's called glossomania. Who knew, Doctor Seuss was kookoo.

This one was actually a surprise, I went into it thinking it was going to be something else and then I ended up pulling this one out of my....I actually thought the poop bits lasted longer than normal while I was grunting this one out so I examined it over after the fact and yep, they're littered all over the place. I could've easily squeezed out a skateboarding joke or parable but nope, mostly poop jokes...who am I kidding? All poop jokes. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to push this one out in public but when you gotta go, you make doo.

  • Sounds E-scapes: Nighttime in CA
    2024/08/11

This is what a typical night in Hawthorne CA sounds like, minus as the oontz-oontz music that has been blasting through the neighborhood for the last week or so, who am I kidding they're always oontz-ooting out there, this is more of an example of what they call "silence" when you live in a city.

    in·no·va·tion noun

    1. : a new idea, method, or device
    2. : the introduction of something new

Dude I remeber back in like middle school starting a paragraph with a definition as the hook was the illiest writing maneuver you could pull, now that I've grown up I see that people have stopped defining words for us :( we have to do it ourselves now that we have tools like google but usually we just let spell check do it for us because it is so readily available. We have dictionaries on our phones but that is an extra step so we just don't use them. We'd rather use the auto correct because it's so smart and easy to use. So smart that it will adamantly auto correct you to the wrong form of your but not know why, further along in the future we will have relied on auto correct so much that its possible that none of us may even know the right form of you're that you're supposed to use, we will have forgotten definitions all together as a people, left to the wayside as text-to-speech technology took over. We will only know and use words how we have heard them and no one will even know why they are saying the things they are saying like the word saying or for instance, maybe it /has/is/ already happen/ed/ing/! All that will be remembered is that when the mystical words (ur) showed up in any form on any forum that others would come and battle would be had. It is as if we have been innovated into an ouroboros of stupidity, wall-e was not a warning, but a prophecy.
