あらすじ・解説
This week we discuss Alfred the Great. We reflect on how it was that his reforms based on a Christian understanding of Law and Kingship, laid the foundations of our whole society.
Dave continues with his resit of GCSE RS, this week we review the prayer and pilgrimage section, it wasn't that bad but there wasn't much on anything really. Except a reminder that the Catholics do strange things like apparently "pray to Mary". Perhaps the hard line protestants have taken over from the Humanists this week.
Finally we talk about the BBC show Threads from 1984. This is truly horrifying on every level, a tough watch. It depicts a family caught up in the buildup to an all out nuclear war. Then the bomb drops and it get really dark. Hywel said that he believed that God wouldn't let this happen, Dave wasn't so sure.
The RS question starts around 19 min. The TV show part starts at 49 min.
