(Shudder-gags) On this episode, Caitlin introduces us to some Greek mythology, because who doesn't love some timeless drama? Grab a drink and get comfy because it's story time. Drink of the Episode: Ambrosia • 1 oz Cognac • 1 oz Calvados or apple brandy • ¼ oz lemon juice • ¼ oz Cointreau (kaan-trow) • Brut champagne, chilled • And Ice cubes Add ice cubes in a mixer and pour cognac, calvados or apple brandy, lemon juice and Cointreau. Cover and shake. Open the cap and strain in a serving glass, usually a flute. Pour champagne until glass is filled. It’s… 1 part Grenadine 2 parts Mentholmint schnapps 4 parts blue curacao. Directions: It’s supposed to be a layered shot, so get a tall shot glass. Pour the Grenadine first, gently add the schnapps and top it with the Blue Curacao. It’ll look like Sonic’s red shoes, his legs and then his blue body on top.     Want to know the template for basically every story ever told? Here we go... "Once upon a time there was [blank]. Every day, [blank]. One day [blank]. Because of that, [blank]. Until finally [bank]." Let's try it on... Once upon a time there was a guy named John McClane. Every day, he tries to be a good guy to his family even though he and his wife are on the outs at the moment. One day, he visits his wife at a holiday work party and a group of terrorists show up. Because of that, he has to go full Bruce-Willis-murder mode, tape a gun to his back and walk barefoot on glass. Until finally, he kills all the terrorists and saves the day. Huh. On this episode, Caitlin explains the art of storytelling and the rules the big guys follow when creating interesting stories. Whether you write, read or watch Netflix, you'll leave this episode with some knowledge that will help enrich the experience. Drink of the Episode: The Tall Tale Ingredients • 2 oz Tequila • 1 oz Lemon Juice • 1/2 oz Agave Nectar • 2 Cucumber Wheels • 2 Blackberries • 2 oz Ginger Beer Muddle cucumber and blackberries in a mixing glass.     "I will drop you like a bad habit!" Wait... but... habits are not that easy to drop, right? Hmm... while you go ahead and think of some better shade to throw, we'll be over here learning a thing or two about habits. On this episode, Kendall explains habits - good and bad - and breaks down the best ways to pick them up or drop them, respectively. Make a good habit and have a listen! Drink of the Episode: The Healthy Habit INGREDIENTS 2 ounces gin, such as Plymouth ½ ounce beet juice ½ ounce lime juice ½ ounce lavender-infused simple syrup (recipe follows) 1 teaspoon cayenne 1 egg white 1 ounce kombucha DIRECTIONS Add all ingredients except kombucha to a cocktail shaker with no ice. Shake vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds (this is called a dry shake). Add ice to your cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for another 10 to 15 seconds (you guessed it: this is a wet shake). Add kombucha and stir. Strain into a coupe and serve up. Caitlin gives a broad overview of death; some things to expect physically, emotionally and culturally. We promise you'll feel better about death after you've listened than you currently do. Drink of the Episode: Gateway to heaven Ingredients: • 1 oz pineapple rum • ½ oz peach schnapps • 1 oz sweet and sour mix • 1 and ½ ox Hypnotiq • 1 oz island punch pucker • Lemon lime soda • Rim: blue sugar Directions: • Rim the edge of your glass with blue sugar. Set aside. • In a shaking glass with ice, combine pineapple rum, hpnotiq, peach schnapps, island punch pucker, and sweet & sour mix. Shake well. • Strain mix into rimmed glass over ice and top with lemon lime soda. • Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry.
