Artists Like Us

  • サマリー

  • Artists Like Us is a space for deep-dive conversations with creatives you may not know yet but should. This podcast brings together a mosaic of voices—writers, dancers, musicians, performers, visual artists—each with their own stories, struggles, and unique paths in the world of art. The conversations here are candid, sometimes chaotic, and all about finding joy and purpose in the process, whether the world is watching or not. We hope you take away inspiration, and a renewed sense of how much art can mold the way we see the world and ourselves.

  • Dan Actively Observes
    2025/01/07

Dan Caplan is a professional amateur photographer who has just released his first photo book, "Temporary Forever."

Set against the backdrop of a global health crisis, social upheaval, and environmental disaster, Temporary Forever is Dan Caplan's portrait of daily life in the early 2020s. Beginning in the nascent days of the Covid-19 pandemic, this visual archive captures moments of uncertainty, beauty, and the absurdities of modern life.-Borderline Press

Based in Portland, Dan's passion for music and community comes through in his photography and cinematographic endeavors. After leaving LA and losing his desire to work in the Big Industry of entertainment, Dan needed an authorship over the work he wanted to create.

Accepting that he wants to be selfish about his work, Dan's been able to carve out a path that's still being carved. Collaborating with local artists turned friends and peers, he's defining his own success. With bands called Ghost Piss and other names you might imagine if you thought "Portland Band."
