  • Coats & Branches (SERIES: On The Road)
    2025/04/13

For many of us, Palm Sunday is about children's parades, waving branches, and a last reminder to buy that ham before Easter. It's a joyful week, with young ones marching down the aisles, holding palm fronds high - everyone singing 'Hosanna' as we remember Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The church community comes together, marking the start of Holy Week with excitement and anticipation, looking ahead to the resurrection of Christ. But what if the Palm Sunday Paraders, both then and now, don’t really understand what was happening at all? What if the triumphal entry wasn't what it seemed?

Join us at BCC this Sunday as we explore Jesus’ ride into town, discovering what was truly unfolding that day and what it means for us now.

  • What Do You Want? (SERIES: On The Road)

    “What do you want?”

From the sharp, impatient tone of a stranger on the street to the polite inquiry of a waiter at a restaurant, we’re constantly confronted with this simple yet powerful question. But how we respond—whether with irritation, excitement, or indifference—depends on who’s asking, and more importantly, why they’re asking.

Now, imagine if the God of the universe were asking you, “What do you want?”

    How would you answer?

This week at BCC, you’re invited to consider your response to this question that Jesus asks while on the road to Jerusalem. Considering what you truly want can stir your soul and ignite your purpose. It’s about peeling back layers of superficial wants and connecting with what you truly need to live a life aligned with your God-given design. Together, let’s make sure we’re asking for the right thing, so when we get the answer, it’s one that truly fulfills.

  • Breaking Free From Coveting (SERIES: Get Off 0)
    2025/03/09

In our journey to get unstuck in our relationships—with God, others, and ourselves—we revisit the Ten Commandments, focusing on the final one: "You shall not covet." (Exodus 20:17). Unlike other commands, God leaves no loopholes—coveting anything that belongs to someone else disrupts our hearts and lives.

While we don’t often use the word, covet, its reality is everywhere. We want, crave, long for what others have—whether it's relationships, possessions, or status. Culture fuels this with messages like "You deserve more!" and "Once you pop, you can't stop." But Christ calls us to contentment.

Contentment isn’t found in getting more, but in longing for the One who gives life.

  • The Lies We Tell (SERIES: Get Off 0)
    2025/03/02

    You liar!

Nobody enjoys hearing that, but the truth is, we all lie. Whether small fibs or deeply ingrained dishonesty, lies infiltrate our lives in many ways. Some are obvious, while others are subtle distortions we don't even notice. From harmless exaggerations to self-protective lies that shield our egos or avoid accountability, deceit is woven into our daily interactions.

This week at BCC, we're exploring how lying shows up in relationships, work, and how we present ourselves. Often, the most dangerous lies are the ones we tell ourselves.

Join us as we explore biblical wisdom to uncover how lies distort our identity, destroy trust, and pull us from the life God desires for us. Together, we'll reflect on how to dismantle these lies and embrace the freedom found in truth.

  • Thieves Among Us (SERIES: Get Off 0)
    2025/02/23

Sometimes, I notice signs for neighborhood watch programs popping up around us, a reminder that we’re trying to ward off the thieves among us. Theft is a real problem that impacts our lives in many ways, from break-ins and identity theft to armed robberies. These acts can strip away not only our personal belongings but also our sense of security and trust. It’s a stark reminder that stealing can deeply affect our relationships and communities.

However, theft extends beyond credit card numbers or Ring camera alerts. It’s woven into the very fabric of our culture, appearing in unexpected places. From taking shortcuts at work to breaking trust with friends, these behaviors stem from the same cycles of scarcity and fear.

This week at BCC, we’ll explore how our mindset contributes to the presence of thieves among us, robbing us of much more than just money. Together, we’ll examine how scripture offers powerful insights to help us break free from these cycles. Join us as we learn to reclaim the life you’ve always wanted—one that has been stolen from you.
