When the door opens in the conversation, just speak the truth by the Holy Spirit of God, by that which the Holy Spirit brings to your mind at that time. 2 Timothy 4:2-4 (Paul instructs Timothy) Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. When I am with a person and the Holy Spirit reminds me of a scripture or concept, that is what I try to speak. The main thing is be faithful to God to speak what HE brings to you by HIS Spirit for then God will do the works that HE wants done. But I am greatly warned about trying to plan ahead that which I will speak for if I do that, it might be my own work. God will guide us in that which we are to speak at the moment we are with another person. Let God be in charge. If God wants us to speak, HE will bring to our mind that which we are to say. And we simply share "that". A woman in our little church group had made out a list of things she wanted to say to her adult aged son. When I found out what she was doing I urged her to tear up her list and just speak those things brought to her mind by the Holy Spirit of God when she was with her son. Luke 21:14-15 Jesus says: Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. She did tear up her list and spoke what God brought to her mind while she was with her son, and she told me later not one thing on her list was called to her mind. Learn to trust God to do HIS work through you. When we learn to trust God, HE will bring to our mind that which HE wants us to say. We don't have to try to do anything! Just speak as the Holy Spirit leads you. John 14:26 Jesus says: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 16:13 Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear (from God), that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come. Also it is critical for us to settle all offenses with God, otherwise we might speak wrongly, trying to set someone straight. We must keep ourselves at peace, without spot and blameless through praying when we are offended, and then speak freely that which God brings to our mind. Several years ago, I came across a church woman who turned to God when there was a problem in her life. She heard from God, and did what God said about the issue, and "overcame" the issue through what God told her. Sometimes she would share with me what had happened after the problem was solved. This is the type of church person with whom I want to have as a companion. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 💥💥💥 To each of the 7 churches in the book of Revelation, Jesus said the following: * Revelation 2:7 to the church at Ephesus: To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. * Revelation 2:11 to the church at Smyrna: He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. * Revelation 2:17 to the church at Pergomas: He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. * Revelation 2:26-28 to the church at Thyatria: And he that overcometh, and keepeth MY works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of MY Father. And I will give him the morning star. * Revelation 3:5 to the church at Sardis: He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before MY Father, and before HIS angels. * Revelation 3:12 to the church at Philadelphia: Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of MY God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of MY God, and the name of the city of MY God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from MY God: and I will write upon him MY new name. * Revelation 3:21 to the church of the Laodiceans: To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with ME in MY throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in HIS throne. To each church, Jesus says: "To him that overcomes." Each of us overcome by turning to God in prayer and by asking God to help us and guide us in what we should do in the situation. And then after we hear from God, we diligently do that which we hear to do. And we overcome by doing that Word which is given to us by God. I've always loved this Psalm: Psalm 107 1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for HE is good: for HIS mercy endureth for ever. 2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom HE hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; 3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. 4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. 5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. 6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and HE delivered them out of their distresses. 7 And HE led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. 8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for HIS goodness, and for HIS wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For HE satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. 10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; 11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High: 12 Therefore HE brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help. 13 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and HE saved them out of their distresses. 14 HE brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder. 15 Oh that men would praise the LORD for HIS goodness, and for HIS wonderful works to the children of men! 16 For HE hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder. 17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. 18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. 19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and HE saveth them out of their distresses. 20 He sent HIS word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 💥💥💥 The work of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us: John 14:26 Jesus says: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Unless God authors the work, that work can be a work of iniquity though it seems to men like a good work. Jesus says: Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of MY Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 💥💥💥 When we do a work, we must be certain it is God who told us to do that thing. Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Ask yourself this: "How did God show me to do this?" We can always pray, asking God if "this" is what HE wants us to do ... and to please stop us if we are going the wrong way. As long as we continue in that which God has set for us to do, peace and calm continues. But if we are drawn off our job, then comes disruption. Do you know your assignment? Do you know what God has set you here to do? Pam Padgett has been given a spiritual gift of helps. I Corinthians 14:27-28 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church (to care for the church), first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Pam has an assignment from God to work in the church "helping" the church. I have two ministry offices ordained by Jesus from heaven: apostle & prophet (Ephesians 4:11) I deal with church doctrine as an apostle, things like divorce/remarriage, doctrines of elders as shown by scriptures, doctrines of Bible concerning homosexuals/lesbians and any other question that surfaces today. Concerning prophets: Hosea 12:13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved. Prophets are used by God to help HIS people to get out of traps and to help them to stay out of traps. Prophets also prepare the way of the Lord. Today we announce the returning of Jesus and help the church to remain in a position of readiness to be received when Jesus returns. And I have a spiritual gift of exhortation to be able to urge the church by advice and warning concerning holding fast to the way of God shown in the scripture. exhortation: to urge earnestly by advice and warning Hebrews 3:12-13 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. God by HIS Holy Spirit shows us our assignments and teaches us how to do that assignment. We do not copy other humans but rather we do that shown us by the Holy Spirit of God. The work we do must be authored by God. It is important for each of us to know that assignment which God gives us as we live on this earth so we can go in HIS way set for us. There are people and things that would pull us off that path if we allowed them to do so. Proverbs 4:14-19 14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil. 15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. 16 For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence. 18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. 19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. Who is it that tempts you to evil? Note those individuals and avoid them. Remove yourselves from that temptation. Make it easy on yourself! I know what I know because I read it in the Bible and I am certain that the Bible is the inspired word of God as the apostle Paul said it is: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. Concerning the way to use the Old Testament, Paul says: I Corinthians 10:1-12 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. The word, "froward", in the Bible means: stubbornly unruly If a person is stubbornly unruly, we must put him far from us, staying away from that person, knowing of his evil speaking. We cannot take his evil words into our own heart. For if we do, we will find his evil coming out of our own mouth at some point in time. Words that go into our heart bear fruit, whether good or bad. Jesus says: for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. (Matthew 12:34) II Corinthians 6 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be MY people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be MY sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 💥💥💥💥💥 * For writings on additional subjects, click here: Jesus Ministries Exhortations Blog
