  • You're Such An Inspiration.... Um, Okay?
    2025/04/11
This week we are discussing a few things. The main topic is about phrases like "you're such an inspiration" and how that can be a detriment for some people. This episode does NOT intend to discourage you from offering statements like "you're such an inspiration" as some do find it comforting to hear. Instead, what it does is help to guide the disabled person on ways to manage it if such phrases invoke a sense of upset or anger. This episode also touches on a few other points that can help the person manage these feelings such as - The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins (not sponsored), some options you have for responses if you do take offense, how to disengage from such a conversation if necessary, clarifying that protecting yourself and your inner-peace is okay even if it's viewed as rude it's okay to be rude to protect inner-peace, and some tips for protecting yourself if you're not being allowed to disengage. We hope you enjoy the episode
