Today T.C had a great mate come on and chew the fat. Hamish "Hammer" McKenzie. Hammer hails from the Echuca region of Victoria Australia. From a rebel kid to a talented cattle buyer to adventure traveler Hammer has done a lot and from it all he has a few yarns to tell.

Jack Brisco has had a go at almost everything in the ag space, but his real passion lies in dog training and livestock handling. T.C and Jack had a great chat about livestock handling and the industry that's so close to both. The Prof was impressed with Geelong's performance on Thursday night but nowhere near as disappointed as he was with the effort of Port Adelaide

T.C and Shottie had a great chat with Roger House from Kojonup in Western Australia. Beleive it or not Roger was still playing Aussie rules football at 62 and then running for the senior team. What an effort. Rogers positive outlook to different issues in agriculture is a credit to him. T.C and Shot both came away "looking through the windscreen and not the review mirror".

The Prof put his thoughts across about the AFL All Australian team announced this week. Fair to say he thought there was a few lucky players and a few unlucky.

The Noonkanbah Blues are playing for a spot in the Grand Final!! We got the scope from Rick Kennedy who is now a regular on Chewing The Fat. Rick got us up to date on life in remote Western Australia and what football means to the people of Noonkanbah.

The Prof spoke today about 2 great champions, the great horse Black Caviar and the sensational Dusty Martin.

Today, T.C had a fan boy moment. Tom Curtain joined T.C and Shottie and he was fantastic. Tom (also known as T.C) is a horse trainer, dog trainer, brilliant country musician, entertainer and overall great bloke. Tom doesn't just train animals he has integrated animal training and music into a fantastic show. He performs at his home base at the Katherine outback experience in the Northern Territory. Then in the wet season he travels and puts the show on the road. If you are not keen to get to one of his shows after this then I can't help you! Fair to say the prof was very impressed with Australia's effort at the Paris Olympics. The story of Saya Sakakibara and her Gold medal in the sport of BMX really took his fancy.

Chewing the fat with T.C and Shottie today was Cate Mercer-Grant. Cate has spent time working for Dan Tehan who represents the Wannon electorate in Western Victoria Australia. Cate talks about the challenges and pressures but also the "pinch me moments" in her role handling all types of communication in the Dan Tehan office. If you can think of your typical high achiever Cate fits that mold to a tee.

T.C Had the Prof opine on a topic he has bought up in the past. Excessive player payments in bush footy. It's a major concern and has a protentional negative impact on clubs and leagues. It's a tuff one as the country clubs need the players!

Where have all the characters gone?

This week T.C found a ripper! Stephen "Rowdy" Purcell joined T.C and Shottie on Chewing the Fat. What an entertaining conversation it was. This chat was full of laughs from a natural storyteller. I feel we have only scratched the surface with Rowdy....especially if we need to keep the stories eligible for live radio!!

Andy Burchell is carving out his wine making career in the rich volcanic soils of the Mount Gambier region in the Southeast of South Australia. Andy's passion for grape growing, wine making, and his home region is very evident in this chat. Andys business Good Intentions Wine company is testament to Andy's attitude to wine making and a must visit when in the Limestone coast region of South Australia.
