  • Chi-Town Weekly #215: The Streaks Are Over!!!
    2025/01/07
They're over! They're all over!! All those darned streaks, the road losses on Sunday, the Packers, the in-season, they're all done! Done in by the strong right leg of Cairo Santos! This is a day to celebrate, Chicago! And then, it's on to the off-season. What do we expect out of the head coaching search? Who will be calling the shots? We'll also start our season review by looking back on each of the draft picks from this class and grading them individually.
Derrick Rose also had his triumphant return to United Center over the weekend and it was a party! The Bulls put the icing on the cake by beating the Knicks, too! Congratulations also to North Central for winning the Stagg Bowl and we discuss Northern Illinois moving to the Mountain West Conference for football.

  • Chi-Town Weekly #211 Well That Didn't Work
    2024/12/10
The Thomas Brown change didn't have anything close to the desired effect as the Bears got shelacked in San Francisco 38-13. The loss makes it now 7 in a row for the Bears. Is there any hope in sight? The Blackhawks have had a similarly rough start to their season and they decided to get in on the action, too, firing Head Coach Luke Richardson. What went wrong for the Hawks and how might new interim coach Anders Sorenson fare? The same problems seem to be there on Saturday in Sorenson's first game. Finally, baseball's Hot Stove may be heating up! Juan Soto signed with the Mets last night, which could pave the way for the rest of the free agent class to sign. And with the General Managers all gathered together at the Winter Meetings, might the Cubs and White Sox be working on some deals?

  • Chi-Town Weekly #210: Black Friday Bears
    2024/12/03
The Bears made history in an incredible way on Black Friday, firing Head Coach Matt Eberflus. It's the first time in the Bears 105-year history they've fired a coach in the middle of the season. However, they had to go about in typical Bears fashion, meaning they screwed something up. We go through a complete timeline of events to try and make sense of it all. And what can interim Head Coach Thomas Brown do to salvage the rest of the season? Andre from NorCal Sports Report also joins in the second half to help break down the Bears next opponent. Might the losing streak finally be coming to a close?

  • Chi-Town Weekly #209 Comfortably Numb
    2024/11/26
The Bears found yet another heartwrenching way to lose a football game, this time mounting a 4th quarter comeback for the ages only to lose in overtime to the Minnesota Vikings. Is the losing ever going to stop this season? And while the Bears are certainly going to move on from Matt Eberflus at the end of this season, are the San Francisco 49ers really going to move on from Kyle Shanahan? And if so, how quickly can he get to Chicago? Finally, Scotty Pippen Jr came to town last week and did his Old Man proud. Too bad it had to be *against* the Bulls and not for them.

  • Chi-Town Weekly #208 Is it Better to Get Blown Out or Walked Off?
    2024/11/19
The Bears continued their losing ways on Sunday, this time falling to the Team Up North 20-19. This makes 4 straight losses overall and 11 straight to Green Bay. When are they going to win again? It's not going to get any easier with Minnesota coming to town this week.
Connor Bedard returned home to Vancouver this past weekend with the Blackhawks. Meanwhile Taylor Hall has become a healthy scratch. What's going on there?
Then some basketball to wrap up the show as the Sky will have the 3rd overall pick in the WNBA draft this spring. Finally, is DePaul basketball finally on the rise?
