For several years great friends Kathy Price and Tania Kindersley have randomly telephoned each other up and ended up having wonderful and winding conversations. Somehow, the chat would leap onto a short contemplation of quantum physics, a gallop through all the human emotions, a quick diversion on the meaning of life, before returning to the wonders of soup.

There were many times when Kathy and Tania wished they'd recorded the conversations, because when they were really riffing off each other, the occasional nugget of wisdom or truth or funniness would present itself, only to dissolve back into the ether, impossible to recall.
