あらすじ・解説
In this episode our MSL co-hosts Yiota Manolopoulos, PharmD, MPH and Katie Mousavi, PharmD have a conversation with Anne Peters, MD on how to incorporate social determinants of health in clinical trials and methods to overcome the challenges that under resourced communities face daily. Dr. Peters identifies key barriers that physicians and other healthcare providers encounter when designing clinical trials for patients with diabetes, particularly among racial and ethnic minority populations and other marginalized communities. We conclude the episode with concrete actions and resources our listeners can use to design clinical trials, ensure longevity of these interventions, and begin to narrow the gap on healthcare disparities within the racial and ethnic minority populations with diabetes.
