A conversation with DKT. Darrick, Kalo, and Tunde are psychologists (in-training) in Boston. In this episode they discuss a talk they attended in Brockton, MA, by school psychologist Dr. Umar Johnson. Dr. Umar is a firebrand commentator on social and political issues, trained in the assessment and treatment of children in school settings, and the self-proclaimed Prince of Pan-Africanism. His voice and perspectives are well underrepresented in mainstream psychology, but he's found a way to be heard. DKT reflect on Umar's comments and discuss their own experiences as underrepresented minorities working in the mental health field.
