GENESIS 6:8-22 Have you ever felt like you were the only one? The only one trying to choose what’s right. The only one saying no to drugs or alcohol. The only one not giving in to sexual sin. The only one loving God. It can feel that way sometimes, can’t it? And maybe in your friend group, family, or school, you are the only one. Noah was the only righteous person in his society. Can you imagine that? The population was so corrupt that God decided to wipe it out, but God spared Noah and his family—all because Noah was the only righteous person. Sometimes it takes just one person to make a radical difference in the world. You've probably been told that in some form, and maybe it has become a phrase that some roll their eyes at. But it’s true. In your school, in your family, in your society, you can make a difference when you live for Jesus. It’s incredibly difficult when you’re the only one, like Noah, but God is with you. He walks with you, enabling you to continue choosing what is holy and righteous even when no one else does. On tough days, remember this: God blessed Noah because of his obedience. When we choose to follow Jesus—even if others don’t—we will be blessed with abundant life, like Noah. We may not see it immediately, and it may still feel like the difficult choice, but God will bless us. We’ll grow in our faith; we’ll be a light to those around us; and we’ll walk in freedom from sin that could enslave us. | IN WHAT AREA OF YOUR LIFE DOES IT FEEL LIKE YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE LIVING FOR GOD? | WHAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW GOD WHEN OTHERS AREN’T DOING THE SAME? PRAY LORD, I WANT TO FOLLOW YOU EVEN IF NO ONE ELSE GOES WITH ME. STRENGTHEN ME TO LIVE FOR YOU EVEN IF I’M THE ONLY ONE.
